The world can be harsh. We don’t think your cleaning products have to be. And that’s why we at Melaleuca created EcoSense. Who would have thought that part of the answer would be in not having products in aerosol cans? Beyond the risks associated with the pressurized cans and propellants, the aerosol particles in many household cleaners can be nearly twenty times smaller than the particles created by our trigger sprayers. And, according to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health**, the smaller a particle, the more easily it is inhaled. In addition, the smaller the particle, the longer it will linger in the air. Not only is it easier to inhale smaller particles, but they linger in the air hundreds of times longer. It’s no wonder that Melaleuca scientists choose trigger sprayers for our EcoSense cleaners.
Melaleuca scientists were guided by their desire to create safer products when they developed MelaBrite® (our non-chlorine bleach alternative, and Diamond Brite® (our liquid automatic dishwashing detergent). Both have pH-neutral formulas, so unlike their competitive alternatives, neither is required to have a child-resistant safety cap. These are a few examples.
